PRODUCER

Theatre & Concert Producer

Chris Mackin is a producer of theatre, concerts, and other live events, with experience spanning Broadway and Off-Broadway, large concert venues, and the creation of original hybrid works.

As Associate Producer at Alexis Productions under Tony Award-winner Anita Waxman, Chris contributed to major Broadway and pre-Broadway productions including Escape to Margaritaville and Little Dancer, among numerous other projects in development. During his tenure, he traveled with developing productions at La Jolla Playhouse, 5th Avenue Theatre (Seattle), the Nederlander Theatre (Chicago), and the Williamstown Theatre Festival, among others, while also managing multimillion-dollar theatrical investment funds on behalf of the company’s producing partners. He later collaborated with Don Frantz at Town Square Productions, working across a wide slate of theatrical and experiential projects.

As Executive Producer for Popular Shows LLC, founded by New York Times bestselling author Michael Levin, Chris produced the Off-Broadway run of Sober Songs at Theatre Row, as well as Jenny Loves Me at the Museum of Jewish Heritage and The Huntington Theatre. He continues to oversee the company’s slate of new projects — including After All These Years and One Father, One Son — through staged readings, concerts, and developmental workshops.

As founder and producer of Loop Troupe, Chris has produced hundreds of theatrical concerts and live shows that merge music, comedy, and theatre, presented at venues including Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn Made, The Vineyard Theatre, Littlefield, Racket NYC, Baby’s All Right, ShapeShifter Lab, Mercury Lounge, Pianos, Murmrr Ballroom, The Delancey, Franklin Stage Company, Joe’s Pub, The Knitting Factory, The People’s Improv Theatre, The Colony Woodstock, and Park City Music Hall, among many others.

Chris also created and produces Bushwick’s Dead — a Brooklyn-based jam collective with an ongoing residency at the 850-capacity Brooklyn Bowl, curating large-scale tribute and concept shows that reimagine the music of the Grateful Dead and beyond.

As a producer, Chris is dedicated to building new models for sustainable live performance, combining the infrastructure of commercial theatre with the communal energy of the music scene. His work centers on collaboration, creative risk-taking, and rethinking how audiences experience live art in the twenty-first century.
